Happy New Year 2023- Take A Breather Sister!

Being a writer takes discipline. Something I seem to have forgotten during the holidays. Okay, okay, maybe just a bit before then. So, I had to pick up the pace again and get back to my writing. Seems like life keeps getting in the way and I have to push through the barriers that stop me from accomplishing what it is that I want to do. And with the holidays that we just had, there was baking and crafts and so much more to distract me. Oops! Hey, I’m human.

But I have another couple of books to add to the three I already have on Amazon.com. I have a romance novel ready to publish and another sequel I’m writing to go with my Ghost Detective The Magic Ruby. Both fiction books that can be enjoyed by young and old. I think I over did it with the recent books I had written. But I was having fun. I didn’t listen to my own advice to stop and take a Breather. At least probably not as often as I should have. The past summer came and went and I know there were many more days I could have gone outside to write as the sun warmed my face and played its magic dance on the flowers, the trees and all of nature that waited through a long winter for it to shine bright. But I also knew that if I went outside, there was no way I would want to write. The sun is too magnificent for me to avoid a good day in its embrace, warming my body, giving me vitamin D, enriching my blood. Not to mention a great tan to darken my Mediterranean skin.

But when I get my ideas, I don’t want to lose the thought, so I keep going and going and going. Ha, no batteries to change either. But at some point, we know we should stop. Switch gears. Doesn’t mean we have to be productive every single day. Let’s not beat ourselves over the head if we don’t get to everything on our list for the day. Because I’m sure many of us will be over productive one day and not as much the next. That’s ok. We need to remember to have fun and enjoy life too. So, let’s all - Breathe-Breathe-Breathe! Get some fresh air. Enjoy nature. Interesting how just a walk can refresh us. Recharge those batteries by putting your feet on the ground – ok, maybe not in our cold Canadian winters, but when the warmer weather comes. So, let’s enjoy the winter for now because there is lots to do, and when summer comes, let’s shake off those shoes and feel the earth beneath our feet.

It's a new year and as always lots of changes in the works for life to happen. So, let’s try and be good to ourselves. Let’s be productive but let’s also have some fun!

Wishing you all a Happy New Year
